FountainScapes - Repair, Service & Maintenance
We keep your fountainscape operating in peak condition by servicing and repairing cracked concrete, replacing pumps, and providing seasonal maintenance.
Natural concrete fountains age and weather with time and little
or nothing needs to be done to preserve the concrete. Many owners find the natural aging and weathering of a natural stone
lawn and garden fountain very appealing.
Check your water level daily and apply water as needed to ensure that the fountain pump is able to work efficiently. Depending on where the fountain is located and the amount of lime and minerals in your water, your pump should be cleaned twice per month or monthly.
Winterization Tip: Concrete fountains, statues and lawn ornaments need to be protected from severe winter weather as freezing could damage your fountain. Since we do live in an area that reaches temperatures below freezing, if possible you should store your fountain inside away from snowing and freezing. If this is not possible, then you should drain your fountain completely.
After your fountain has been drained, place burlap inside the bowl so no water can gather in the fountain bowl or shell. The expanding and contracting of freezing and melting ice, snow and water can damage your fountain. Cover the fountain with a waterproof cover so that no water can gather inside the bowls. Make sure if you are storing your fountain inside that if you stack the bowls you place a layer of burlap between the pieces so that no scratching will occur from the pieces rubbing together. If you follow the above steps this should protect your fountain for the winter months.
