Our spring cleanouts replicate Nature's spring showers by washing out old sludge and organic material, reviving plant life, balancing your pond's ecosystem, and restoring everything to healthy conditions. We just do it faster than Mother Nature and more customized to your pond's immediate needs!
What Services are Performed in a Cleanout?
During a typical service, our staff will perform a complete system, plant and fish check on your pond. These services include:
- Drain the pond
- Gently relocate fish to large tub with aerator
- Water landscape plantings with nutrient rich pond water
- Pressure wash the waterfall(s), stream(s) and pond(s)
- Clean and replace filter mats and skimmer net (if needed)
- Replace all aquatic light fixture lamps (bulbs)
- Clean and test pump
- Back flush
- Clean Biofalls mats and replace as needed
- Rock and gravel check - (5) gallon bucket provided complimentary. More upon request.
- Start the water to refill the pond and add de-chlorinator to neutralize city water
- Re-introduce fish (and leave the water running slowly) for when you return home
- Then you turn off the water and plug in your pump. (If you prefer, we can complete the refill and then start your pump for you).
How Much Does a Pond Cleanout Cost?
It is a function of time. Cleanout costs vary, but most clients should expect between $175 for smaller features and $375 or more for medium and larger ponds. We can give you a very close estimate when you call.
The key factors that affect price are the size of your pond, when it was last cleaned, and the amount of leaves on the pond floor. We clean ponds that have never been cleaned, and others that are maintained more regularly. We have a $78 truck charge. Our hourly rate is only $58, and EQUIL™ eco-friendly pond treatment chemicals are typically $10 or less! We have the experienced professionals and all of the proper equipment to do the job right!
